Fundamental Skills in MRI for Radiographers

Hybrid Course

This MRI course for Radiographers combines 2x single day live interactive study days (Parts 1 and 2) together with an e-learning programme and support.

E-learning can be completed at the delegates' own pace and will be available between the first and second study days, thereby reinforcing the building blocks of knowledge gained from the study day components.

Access to e-learning is via our dedicated e-learning tool.

Course Focus

This course focusses on clinical scenario based learning to support application of theory to clinical practice, improving fundamental clinical skills in MRI.

It is suitable for Radiographers who are relatively new to MRI or who want to understand the underpinning principles and improve application of the theory in their practice.

As a minimum, one to two months experience in the MRI department prior to the course is beneficial, but not essential.

We are proud to integrate the use of the Corsmed MRI Simulator within the course to assist delegate understanding of parameter selection and manipulation together with impact on image quality/scan time.

Relative SNR and accurate scan time is represented on all our examples together with manipulation of geometry and timing parameters.

More information regarding the Corsmed MRI Simulator can be found here

Delivery

Delivered by Radiographers and other medical imaging professionals, for Radiographers, the live interactive study days feature the Corsmed MRI Simulator, polling, discussion and breakout areas*

Access

Study day and e-learning access will require a PC/Mac or tablet (Apple or Android). Integral webcam and microphone is preferable for the study day component although mobile dial in audio is supported.

Testimonial

'I enjoyed the day. I am very fresh to MRI and I found the content was presented in a way that was easy to understand (even though I did have to think hard about the physics side of things). Loved that it was an open and easy environment and felt safe putting ideas/answers forward even if I wasn't correct'

Testimonial

'I really enjoyed the course, especially that questions were encouraged and interaction from the group was necessary. It makes it so much more interesting. The slides were clear and concise and I really appreciated having access to the MRI Simulator for my understanding of altering parameters'

All aspects explained really well. Applications and parameters of the scanner now make sense

Chloe V.  Fundamental Skills in CT Course

Liz and Edward were very approachable. Felt no pressure. Explained with examples and drawings. Included us in group discussion. Great session!

Sarmita R.  Fundamental Skills in MRI Course

I have worked in MRI for about 1.5 years now and this course has been very beneficial so far. It has helped to understand the equipment better and to be less afraid of playing with parameters within reasonable limits

Madara D.  Fundamental Skills in MRI Course

I just want to say thankyou to Liz and Edward for this fantastic course. You were very thorough and covered the majority of the areas a newbie into MRI like myself found very overwhelming and daunting when I initially tried studying the physics aspect on my own. So once again, thank you both very much
