Introduction to Clinical Imaging IT Systems
An expert in Healthcare Imaging Informatics (including related medical devices), Dewinder has gained considerable knowledge and skills in the PACS/VNA/Imaging IT environment to be able to provide strategic leadership and expert guidance to customers, stakeholders and colleagues in both the public and private sectors.
Dewinder started his academic career in Oxford in the early 1980's, completing his undergraduate studies in Physical Sciences followed by postgraduate studies at St. Bartholomews Medical College in Medical Electronics and Physics. He also lectured in Computers in Medicine Studies to postgraduate students at Imperial College and St. George's Medical College (University of London) and on the Masters degree course in Medical Physics at the University of Surrey for many years.
Dewinder plays an active role in International and National Standards, having been involved in BSI Radiology Equipment Standards to being Chairman of the BSI MRI Safety Standard, successfully publishing ISO EN BSI 60601_2_33. He has served as Chair of BSI IST/35 Mirror panel IV and member of ISO TC 215 Working Group helping integrate DICOM and IHE into ISO standards.
He is also currently the user Co-Chair of the IHE-UK group and has helped organise and been involved as a monitor of the 1st UK IHE Connectathon and continues to be a monitor at the European Interoperability Connectathons
