Penny Owens
Course Director: The Leader Within Training Programme (Radiographers)
Penny has worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer since 1977. During that time she has worked within five different NHS trusts in London and the Midlands and over the last 30 years has held Chief Radiographer, Imaging General Manager and Director of Allied Health Professions level appointments within the NHS.
Penny served on various national steering committees for RCR, SCoR and Health Education England including the National Steering Group for QSI Review. She also chaired the National Occupational Standards Review for Diagnostic Radiography.
She is currently engaged as Subject Matter Expert for the Diagnostic Support Workforce Review Project for HEE and SCoR and is a member of the NHS National Assembly and a Public Governor at an NHS Foundation Trust in the East Midlands.
She is a CQC Specialist Advisor and a Lead Technical Assessor for QSI in the UK and for SWEDAC in Sweden.
Her abiding passion is for leadership development to enable delivery of a caring and compassionate, patient centric, high quality service.
