Level 2 Further Skills: Musculoskeletal Imaging Referral and Interpretation Programme

These Level 2 courses designed for the GP, Advanced Practitioner and non medical referrer, consist of 2x half day live interactive online study that will provide the delegate with further skills and understanding to improve diagnostic imaging use and ensure it is clinically appropriate, thereby supporting the clinical examination.
Previously known as the Level 2 MSK Imaging and the Clinical Examination Course, the full programme consists of three, live interactive online courses, each dedicated to MSK imaging use in either Upper Limb, Lower Limb or Spine
The programme follows on from the successful Level 1 MSK Imaging Referral and Interpretation Course.
Level 1 completion prior to Level 2 is not a prerequisite but attendance at either course is based upon your level of experience. Please contact us if you require further information regarding course suitability.
Delivered by a Principal Consultant Osteopath, together with a Senior Radiographer and Post Graduate Lecturer with over twenty years MSK imaging experience, this course features interactive lectures/case workshops with live polling, chat and discussion sessions.
Booking the full course programme will include attendance at each of the subsequent three rolling course dates. The option is also available to book individual courses dependent upon requirement.
Each course will be conducted through the convenience of a live, interactive online platform and delivered over 2xhalf days.
The following topic areas are covered:
- Imaging methods, techniques, views and image weighting (MRI). Capabilities and limitations.
- Surface and Functional anatomy of all major joints relevant to the specific course.
- Clinical decision making, including how and when to refer for imaging, including information to provide.
- Appropriate imaging use and image appearances plus implications of unexpected findings including red flags.
- Pattern recognition of basic pathologies pertaining to the specific course and correlation with the imaging report.
- Case study investigation, considering differentials based on presenting clinical history and best practice approaches to imaging management of a variety of conditions.
Course access will require a PC/Mac or tablet (Apple or Android). Integral webcam and microphone is preferable, although dial in audio is supported.
